News Release

For Immediate Release: January 15, 2025

Jan. 15, 5:40 P.M., County of Kaua‘i, Salt Pond brush fire

Kaua‘i Fire Department firefighters are responding to a brush fire by Salt Pond Beach Park near Lele Road and Lokokai Road.

At this time, there is no threat to structures or reports of injuries. However, park users at Salt Pond Beach park may voluntarily evacuate as a precaution.

Assets

Crews with the Hanapepe and Kalaheo stations, Tender 1, Air 1, private landowners, and the on-duty Battalion Chief are on scene.

The Kaua‘i Emergency Management Agency is monitoring the incident. 

Road closures

At this time, there are no road closures. However, the public is strongly advised to avoid the area.
