Oct. 6 UPDATE: Swimming resumes at Hā‘ena Beach Park
HĀ‘ENA – Ocean Safety Bureau officials have not observed sharks in the area on Sunday and have pulled warning signs at Hā‘ena Beach Park. Swimming and other recreational water activities have resumed. Mahalo.

Officials advise no swimming at Hā‘ena Beach Park due to shark sighting
HĀ‘ENA – Ocean Safety Bureau officials advise no swimming at Hā‘ena Beach Park until further notice due to a shark sighting.
OSB officials received a report of a possible 8- to 10-foot shark sighted about 50 feet from shore.
As a safety precaution, OSB officials have posted warning signs and are monitoring the area.
Lifeguards will reassess the area tomorrow, Oct. 6.
Updates will be provided when more information becomes available.
