Oct. 3 UPDATE: Portions of Ke Ala Hele Makālae to be closed Oct. 9
KAPA‘A – The Department of Parks and Recreation (DOPR) is announcing that portions of Ke Ala Hele Makālae in Kapa‘a that was originally scheduled to be closed tomorrow has been rescheduled to close on Oct. 9.
Work will take place from Keālia Beach Park to Kuna Bay, Wednesday, Oct. 9, from 7 a.m. to 2 p.m.

Portions of Ke Ala Hele Makālae to be closed Oct. 3 and Oct. 4
KAPA‘A – The Department of Parks and Recreation (DOPR) is announcing that portions of Ke Ala Hele Makālae in Kapa‘a will be closed on Oct. 3 and Oct. 4.
The closures are necessary to allow the Department of Parks and Recreation and the Department Public Works to conduct extensive maintenance.
The dates, times, and closure locations are as follows:
- Former Otsuka’s building to Keālia River Bridge – Thursday, Oct. 3, from 7 a.m. to 2 p.m.; and
- Keālia Beach Park to Kuna Bay, Friday, Oct. 4, from 7 a.m. to 2 p.m.
The Department of Parks and Recreation thanks the public for their patience and cooperation during this scheduled maintenance.
