Full road closure scheduled for portion Olohena Road from Oct. 14 to Oct. 23
KAPA‘A - The Department of Public Works and Earthworks Pacific are announcing that a portion of Olohena Road, from Kamalu Road to Waipouli Road, will be closed from Monday, Oct. 14, to Wednesday, Oct. 23.
The full road closure is necessary for the bridge replacement at Konohiki Stream. Residents in the area will be permitted through the work area. However, they will be unable to cross the bridge at Konohiki Stream from either direction. Message board signs will be placed on Olohena Road so that drivers can see the dates of the upcoming closure.
Motorists will need to use alternate routes for school drop-off and pickup, and throughout the day.
Detour routes are as follows:
- Eastbound traffic on Olohena Road will be routed onto Waipouli Road from Kamalu Road via Olohena Road; and
- Westbound traffic will be routed onto Waipouli Road via Hauiki Road, and onto Kamalu Road via Olohena Road.
Updates will be posted when that portion of Olohena Road reopens.
Should you have any questions or concerns, please contact Devin Quinn of Earthworks Pacific at 808-246-8808.
