10:30 p.m., Sept. 18, Wainiha brush fire notice
WAINIHA – Kaua‘i Fire Department personnel with the Hanalei Fire Station, Rescue 3, Tanker 1, and the on-duty Battalion Chief are monitoring a brush fire on a ridge above Wainiha Powerhouse Road.
At this time, there are no threats to homes or road closures.
The fire is currently inaccessible due to the terrain. However, fire crews are in the area to keep watch overnight. Emergency personnel with the Kaua‘i Emergency Management Agency are also on standby if additional support is needed.
Updates will be given when more information becomes available.
