7:45 p.m. UPDATE, County of Kaua‘i, Anahola brush fire
Kaua‘i Fire Department firefighters continue to respond to a brush fire in Anahola, mauka of Kūhiō Highway, across the post office.
The fire is 20% contained, according to fire officials. Fire is estimated at 10 to 15 acres.
Crews with the Kaiakea and the Kapa‘a fire stations, Rescue 3, Tender 1, Department of Public Works, private landowners, and the on-duty Battalion Chief are responding to the incident. Air 1 and Air 2 have stood down for the evening.
The Kaua‘i Emergency Management Agency is currently at level 2 activation and continues to monitor and support the incident.
At this time, there are no road closures, and no immediate threat to homes.
