Correction: "Mauka" Boat Ramp work scheduled for May 23
A previous news release stated the "Weke Boat Ramp" will be closed on Thursday. The correct boat ramp that will be closed is the "Mauka Boat Ramp" at Black Pot Beach Park. The below press release has been changed to reflect this correction. Mahalo!
HANALEI – The Department of Parks and Recreation (DOPR) is announcing that the Mauka Boat Ramp at Black Pot Beach Park will be closed Thursday, May 23, from 7 a.m. to noon.
The closure is necessary for boat ramp access work.
“Local fishermen have raised concerns with the Mauka Boat Ramp and approach, as it is getting difficult to safely launch and retrieve boats,” said Deputy Director of Parks and Recreation Wallace Rezentes Jr. “We thank our fishing community for their cooperation and understanding.”
For questions or more information, please contact DOPR at 808-241-4460 or visit Kauai.gov/parks.
