Various agencies to host community health event Dec. 8 and Dec. 22
WAILUA – The Kaua‘i County Housing Agency, in partnership with Ho‘ola Lahui Hawai‘i, Project Vision Hawai‘i, Hale Opio, and the Kaua‘i Fire Department Fire Prevention Bureau, are proudly hosting a community health event on Friday, Dec. 8, and Friday, Dec. 22, at Lydgate Beach Park near the campsite by Kamalani Playground. The event will occur from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. on both days.
The event is called, “Aloha ‘Āina, Malama Kekahi i Kekahi,” and will include various health services for the community. Ho‘ola Lahui will be providing primary care services and family planning via their new mobile medical unit. Project Vision Hawai‘i will be providing hot showers to anyone in need as well as free vision screening. Additionally, there will be giveaways and snacks for those in attendance, as well as Narcan distribution, tobacco cessation and insurance signups through Malama Pono Health Services. The Alzheimer Association will also be in attendance.
The event is free and open to the entire community.
