LĪHU‘E – The Department of Parks and Recreation (DOPR) is announcing that the area surrounding the Lydgate Campground will be closed on Wednesday, Oct. 18, from 6 a.m. to 2:30 p.m.
This closure is necessary to allow DOPR staff to thoroughly clean and perform much-needed grounds maintenance of the Lydgate Campground facilities that normally cannot be done due to individuals and vehicles in the area.
This closure coincides with the weekly campground closure and will also encompass the entire parking lot. In addition to regular weekly maintenance, crews will address overgrown vegetation and other issues in the parking lot area. Nehe Road will be closed just past Kaha Lani Resort.
The Lydgate Campground is regularly closed from 10 a.m. on Tuesday to noon on Thursday, so this closure will not affect any permitted campers.
