Public invited to Rice Street Block Party on Oct. 28; portion of Rice Street will be closed for the event
LĪHU‘E – The public is invited to attend the Rice Street Block Party, a family-focused event, from 4 to 8 p.m. on Saturday, Oct. 28.
To accommodate the block party, Rice Street (between Umi Street and Kalena Street) will be closed from 2 to 10 p.m., on Oct. 28. Kress Street will also be closed (between Rice Street and Halenani Street). Umi, Hardy, and Kalena streets will remain open during the event.
The block party will feature various entertainment along Rice Street, including a keiki zone with a climbing wall, rides, games, a dedicated area for Play Streets Kaua‘i, live music, local vendors and more. There will also be a kickball tournament at Līhu‘e County Park, as a fundraiser for Maui fire victims. Free parking will be available at the Kaua‘i War Memorial Convention Hall and the Līhu‘e Civic Center.
During the road closure, Route 70 Līhu‘e Shuttle will not service stops along Rice Street, and riders are directed to utilize the bus stops on Eiwa Street.
