Lane closures for sections of Olohena Road on Aug. 31 and Sept. 1
KAPA‘A - The Department of Public Works, Bowers + Kubota, and Earthworks Pacific announce that construction personnel will conduct road reconnaissance work on Olohena Road in Kapa‘a on Aug. 31 and Sept. 1, from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m.
The work will be conducted on Olohena Road, between Kāmalū Road and Ka‘apuni Road. Please see the map below for the project area. Weather permitting, engineers and construction personnel will be marking the pavement reconstruction areas scheduled to begin on Monday, Sept. 18.
Additionally, please note that during student pick-up and drop-off times, work effort will be minimized to help accommodate both Kapa‘a High School and the Elementary schools.
To maintain safety during the layout work on the roadway, one lane of Olohena Road will be closed, and flaggers will alternate traffic in the open lane.
Motorists are advised to follow all traffic control signs, and personnel expect short traffic delays up to five minutes.
