Valdosta Fire Department Monthly Newsletter |
|
Welcome to The Second Alarm, the Valdosta Fire Department's Monthly Newsletter. The objective of this newsletter is to communicate information to our members and the citizens we serve. Communications in any organization are pivotal to its success. Though this newsletter does not replace the day to day communication within our organization, we hope this newsletter will aid in sharing valuable information about our department to you. This is YOUR department! We continue to provide you service 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, and 365 days a year. Our doors are open at the stations. Please stop in at your neighborhood station and say hi.

It is always a pleasure to serve the community, and today was no exception. Chief Boutwell led a storytime and provided fire safety education for the kids at Park Avenue Church.
Continuous training provides our firefighters with the tools they need to succeed in serving our community. Here our firefighters trained with multiple agencies at Georgia Christian School to prepare for and respond to an active shooter incident.

It's time to register for the 9/11 Memorial Run |

Hosting station tours are one of the highlights of careers because we are able to interact with our community and inspire the little ones.
Our firefighters were invited to grab a quick photo with the World Champion Trophy

This week, recruits were ready to learn and burn.
Valdosta Fire Department, Thomasville Fire Rescue, and Brooks County Fire teamed up to host a joint live burn training for fire recruits at the Valdosta Fire Training Facility. A live burn training is the most realistic training there is! Recruits take their knowledge learned in the classroom and put it to the test, in a safe and controlled environment
