Celebrating Women's History Month
Sara Ray, President and CEO of the Douglas County Chamber, is an exceptional leader and community member. Her work with the Main Street Program has been invaluable, and her dedication to downtown Douglasville is admirable. As we close out our celebration of Women's History Month, it's important to recognize the contributions of women like Sara, who continue to make a positive impact on their communities and inspire future generations of women leaders.

Facade Grant Program
Three businesses in the downtown business district have recently been awarded facade grants from the DDA to improve the appearance of their storefronts. These grants will help them enhance the curb appeal of their establishments, attract more customers, and contribute to the overall beautification of the area. The businesses that received the grants are now working on upgrading their facades with new signage, lighting, windows, and other improvements to create a more inviting and vibrant atmosphere for visitors and locals alike.

GRANTS
Backing Small Business: On March 20, 2023, application opened for 350 small business grants of $5,000 to eligible businesses in the U.S. and territories.
Community Heart and Soul Seed Grants
This grant provides start-up funding for resident-driven groups in small cities looking to implement a positive change on their community’s future.
SBA Grants: SBA provides limited small business grants and grants to states and eligible community organizations to promote entrepreneurship.
LOAN PROGRAMS
State Small Business Credit Initiative (SSBCI): Georgia’s SSBCI offers two programs: GA LPP (Georgia Loan Participation Program) and Georgia SBCG (Small Business Credit Guaranty).
Downtown Development Revolving Loan Fund (DDRLF): The Downtown Development Revolving Loan Fund (DDRLF) is a program that provides financial assistance to small businesses in downtown areas. The fund offers low-interest loans to help businesses with startup costs, expansion, and renovation projects. The goal of the program is to promote economic growth and development in downtown areas by supporting local businesses.

Greystone Amphitheater at the Douglasville Town Green
Comcast is currently onsite finalizing the overhead utility to underground utility conversion along Club Dr. so that RA-LIN can begin the installation of hardscapes and parallel parking spaces for Club Dr. RA-Lin is continuing the construction of retaining walls on-site, sidewalks, and multi-purpose trails.RA-LIN is also in the process of finalizing framing work for the 3rd-floor room at the existing building, which is designated as an event space.
Lastly, RA-LIN will begin preparation work to install the glulam beams for the amphitheater.
