Spring Break Health Fair
Monday, April 3 at Willing Workers Community Club
Kids are out of school, but their tummies are not! In partnership with Cobb & Douglas Public Health, we will be hosting a health fair with information from WIC, SafeKids, and more. On Monday, April 3 from 9 AM to 12 PM at Willing Workers Community Club Park (8085 Thompson St, Douglasville, GA 30134), we will have giveaways and health information on a first-come, first-serve basis. Cobb and Douglas Public Health will also be providing free produce, while supplies last. Registration is not required, and this event is FREE for all!

All Sports All-Star Junior Clinic
June 26 - 29 at Alice J. Hawthorne Community Center
A variety of athletic camps that not only teaches the fundamentals of different sports but also teaches the ways of learning sports in fun and engaging ways. Participants will have access to traditional and non-traditional sports and be able to connect how the skills of one sport helps another. Register HERE.

Douglasville Girls Volleyball Camp
June 12 - June 15 at Alice J. Hawthorne Community Center
This camp will be hosted at Alice J. Hawthorne Gymnasium where we will have our instructor, Coach Ivory teach basic and advanced skills. This 4-day camp will be June 12 - June 15 from 5:30 PM - 8:00 PM at the Hawthorne Community Center at Jessie Davis Park (7775 Malone St. Douglasville, GA 30134). The Flag Football Clinic teaches the fundamentals of flag football in a fun and engaging way. Players will see how the skills of flag football can promote team-building and confidence. Yes, Girl! It’s Essential Workshops at the Park
Saturday, May 13 from 10 AM - 12 PM at the Ike Owings Community Center at Hunter Park
Join us for a monthly workshop series designed to cover important topics for young ladies ages 8-18. Attendees will be separated, by age, to promote self-care, confidence, healthy living, and self-love. Each workshop instructor is highly skilled in their respective fields and provides leadership, insight, and mentoring for each youth and teen. May's topic is P.Y.T.(Protecting Your Temple) and registration is open HERE.

College Exploration
Sundays April 30 and May 28 from 5:00 - 6:00 PM at the Ike Owings Community Center
Join us for the free College Exploration Program at the Ike Owings Community Center at Hunter Park 8830 Gurley Road Douglasville on Sunday April 30 and Sunday, May 28. This program is designed to educate parents and students on the best fit for colleges. Each week will showcase and highlight topics such as financial aid assistance, essay assistance, admission, and all things college related.

We'll be dishing up delicious and nutritious options that will satisfy even the pickiest eaters. Each class will also include fun exercises and games that promote strength, agility and coordination.

Easter Luncheon/Tea Party Activities for 50+
Thursday, April 6 from 12 PM - 4 PM at Alice J. Hawthorne Community Center
Join us for a festive Easter Hat and Tea Luncheon for adults 50+! Wear your most creative Easter hat, bring your favorite tea cup and enjoy an afternoon of delicious food, delightful tea, and wonderful company.
During the event, we will serve an assortment of finger foods and a variety of teas. In addition to enjoying tea and food, we'll have a fun hat contest, where guests can show off their Easter hats and compete for prizes.

Dearest Little Ladies and Gents,
We are having a tea party, just for you! We’ll eat snacks, blow bubbles, and read a book or two. Come socialize with us in the classiest way and feel like royalty for a day. So, let's get dressed up and have some tea; oh, what a fun party it will be! The fee for this event is $12 per child and FREE for parents. Autism Friendly Inclusion Workshop with Autism Speaks
Tuesday, April 18 at Ike Owings Community Center at 6 PM
Janet Jones-Jordan, Senior Director for Community Inclusion at Autism Speaks will discuss ways to provide a more inclusive community and how it impacts everyone involved. The Parks and Recreation Department will also provide resources about upcoming spring and summer programs for therapeutic recreation. This is a FREE event and registration is not required.

Cheer2Motivate: Parents’ Night Out
Saturday, May 6 from 6-10 PM at Ike Owings Community Center
Leave the kids with us for a night of worry-free fun! We've got you covered with a safe and entertaining evening for your little ones ages 3-13. Take some time off and enjoy a date night or some much-needed relaxation. Let us handle the rest! Cheer2Motivate

Learn cheer fundamentals, new cheers, and band dance. Offering mentorship workshops (sharing, building confidence, self-esteem, choosing friends, etc). Space is limited, so register early! Teen volunteers are needed.

Junior Ranger Camp
June 5 - June 9 from 8 AM - 4 PM
This outdoor adventure camp will allow participants to connect with nature. This program includes an activity journal with activities designed to help children learn more about Douglasville’s parks and to help foster connections to the natural world. Campers will partake in adventures such as scavenger hunts, leaf rubbings, recycling, and much more! Register HERE.

Camp “I AM”
July 5 – July 7 from 8 AM - 4 PM
This camp focuses on SEL (Social-Emotional Learning). Campers will develop skills regarding self-awareness, self-control, and interpersonal skills that are vital for school, and life success. Campers will also explore conflict resolution, life skills, yoga/guided meditation, self-care/hygiene, and daily enrichment activities.
