July is Park and Recreation Month!
 July is the perfect time to share how Douglasville park and recreation professionals rise up for members of the community and provide essential services. We encourage everyone our community to come rise up for parks and recreation with us. Join our Douglasville Parks and Recreation Facebook group to celebrate with us.
4th of July Celebration
Bring your family out to enjoy fun and games on July 4th at Hunter Park from 11 AM - 3 PM. Concessions will be available for purchase. Fireworks can be viewed at Arbor Place Mall and surrounding areas at dusk.

Summer Youth Basketball Camp

We invite players of all levels to enhance their basketball skills through individual instruction and scrimmages. Campers will focus on all areas of fundamentals, individual development, and the importance of teamwork.
We now have 3 age groups: 5-8, 9-11, and 12-14. Learn more and register by July 15 at .

Hunter Park Fall Youth Baseball
Registration closes August 5
We welcome players (girls and boys) ages 3-12 to join us for the fall season of Youth Baseball at Hunter Park. Opening day is scheduled for Saturday, September 10.
Player fees are $65 for ages 3/4 and $90 for ages 5-12 (hat and jersey included for all). Players age 3-4 will not have evaluations.
Scholarships may be requested HERE no later than July 29.

Youth Girls Softball
Registration closes August 12
Registration is open for the 2022 Hunter Park Fall Girls Softball League. This recreational league will teach young ladies aged 5 - 12 softball skills, being a part of a team, and sportsmanship. Players of all skill levels and experience are invited to join.
We want to see you out on the diamond! Registration closes August 12.

Youth Girls Volleyball
Registration deadline is July 15
Players will learn the fundamentals of volleyball (e.g., ball handling, serving, passing, defense) and engage in competition in a fun and supportive environment that emphasizes teamwork, good sportsmanship and hard work. Ages 11-14 are invited to register for our inaugural league.

Camp Terrific
This is a specialty camp designed for individuals with intellectual disabilities happening July 18 - July 22. Participants will be provided a week of therapeutic recreational activities to include nature walks, cycling, fishing, arts and performances and social skills. Outdoor Yoga at Hunter Park
Start your summer weekends off right with yoga in the park! This class is beginner friendly and open to all ages. Join us Saturdays at 10 AM for early morning fun and flows. Classes will meet near the gazebo at Hunter Park every Saturday beginning July 2 from 10:00 AM - 11:00 AM. Register HERE.

Passport to Latin Social Dancing Workshop
This course includes the progressive instruction of the basic techniques of Salsa, Bachata, Cha-Cha, Merengue, and Afro-Cuban Rumba. Participants will learn footwork, styling, timing and the cultural significance of each dance. Register HERE

Senior Line Dancing
Come out and dance to some of your favorite jams and learn new line dances while enjoying the classic slides. This is a free activity for seniors age 50 and older every Monday at 10:00 AM at the Hawthorne Gymnasium. The Hawthorne Center is located at 7775 Malone St Douglasville, 30134. Splash N' Play: July 7 at Jessie Davis Park
We're bringing out the inflatable water slides, playing music, and inviting food vendors to join us at Jessie Davis Park from 11 AM - 3 PM. Jessie Davis is located at 7775 Malone St Douglasville, GA 30134.
PARENTS, please be prepared to sign waivers for your children. We also strongly recommend bringing tents, lawn chairs and plenty of water while your children play. This event is completely free and open to the public.

Screen on the Green: July 8 at Fowler Field
Join us for a showing of Soul
We don't want a single soul to miss our next Screen on the Green at Fowler Field Park on Friday, July 8. We encourage families to bring chairs and blankets to enjoy Soul on the big screen! The movie begins at dusk.

Senior Picnic: July 16 at Willing Workers Park
Come and visit with friends at the Senior Picnic for individuals 50 and older from 10:00 AM - 1:00 PM at Willing Workers Park. Bring your lawn chairs and have some fun under the tents. Set in a beautiful seaside town on the Italian Riviera, Disney and Pixar’s original feature film “Luca” is a coming-of-age story about one young boy experiencing an unforgettable summer filled with gelato, pasta and endless scooter rides. The movie begins at dusk.

Hunters Harvest: Vendors Needed
Our annual Hunters Harvest Fall Festival and Arts & Craft show at Hunter Park will be held on October 15, 2022 from 11:00 AM - 3:00 PM. This event will feature vendors from all over West Georgia and Metro ATL. This event is free and open to the public.
