This serves as a notification from the Georgia Department of Natural Resources of the issuance of a Letter of Permission (LOP) to GA-DNR, Construction and Engineering to conduct board-for-board, pile-for-pile maintenance and repairs to the service dock located at Torey Landing on Ossabaw Island, Chatham County, GA.  The project will begin no sooner than July 15, 2013 and be completed no later than January 15, 2014.

The project will include the construction of a new roof approximately 33’ x 41’ (1,353 sq. ft.) over an existing hoist of the same approximate dimensions, replacement of existing mechanical hoist with new ones, replacement of all electrical supply and controls for the hoist, replacement of 4 timber piles (replacement of others may be required as project progresses), encapsulation of a portion of an existing steel pile on the hoist structure, re-decking of main dock and replacement of an existing approximately 17’ x 46’ (782 sq. ft.) float with two (2) new approximately 8’ x 22.5’ (360 sq. ft.) floats.    There will be no new impacts to jurisdictional coastal marshlands and all work will be conducted within the footprint of the existing dock and hoist structure.
