Apply Now for Waterfowl and Quail Quota Hunts

Earlier this year, Wildlife Resources Division launched a new quota hunt system, which requires all applications to be completed online. The new system eliminates the paper notifications of the past and makes specialty hunt applications, such as Adult/Child, easier.

Monday, October 15 is the deadline to apply for:

  • Waterfowl
  • Adult/Child Waterfowl
  • Quail
  • Adult/Child Quail

APPLY NOW

Did you know? Georgia has about 20,200 active duck hunters and 10,500 goose hunters. On average, 140,000 ducks and 34,000 Canada geese are harvested each year.

TIPS FOR APPLYING

If you haven't used the online system before, here are a few tips:

  • CREATE AN ACCOUNT FIRST: Applicants can get derailed quickly if they fail to create an account in the new system. Under the About tab, see "Instructions - Create an Account."  The only exception to this is Wheelchair Hunts. These are still administered by regional offices and require a paper application.
  • ONLY KIDS CAN APPLY FOR ADULT/CHILD HUNTS: If you're applying for an Adult/Child hunt, the application must be from the CHILD's account. (The adults cannot see these hunts from their accounts.)
  • DON'T FORGET TO WAGER PRIORITY POINTS: The "Points Wagered" box on the application is where you enter the number of priority points you wish to assign to your application. If you were not selected for a previous year's quota hunt, then you have points available. Go to the Account tab, and click on "My Priorities" to review your priority points.
  • VIEW, CHANGE OR DELETE YOUR APPLICATION ANYTIME UP UNTIL THE DEADLINE: You can review, edit and delete your open application by logging in, going to the Quota Hunt tab and clicking on "APPLY NOW/Open Applications."
  • NO GROUP APPLICATION NEEDED FOR WATERFOWL AND QUAIL: Selected hunters may bring up to two hunters with them. For Adult/Child hunts, the selected child may bring one other child and MUST bring the supervising adult.
