Closures Affect River Bend WMA and Richmond Hill WMA

WMA Alerts: Closures
Two Wildlife Management Areas have new closure announcements:
River Bend WMA Campground (Laurens County): The campground closed today due to logging operations. The logging is necessary due to beetle infestations and root rot problems. Dead and dying rees will be cleared and/or thinned in and around the campground. To ensure the public's safety, the campground will be closed until logging is complete and debris is removed.
Richmond Hill WMA Shooting Range (Bryan County): The range will close on May 14, 2012, due to timber management activity. The pine stand adjacent to the range is scheduled to be thinned. The range is expected to re-open by June 1, 2012.
