Parks Re-Open After Hurricane Helene
We have great news for fans of General Coffee and George L. Smith state parks. Both have re-opened following late September's historic Hurricane Helene. Our crews have done an amazing job, and the parks are ready for hikers, paddlers and anglers to return. General Coffee has opened its Heritage Farm with barnyard animals, ranger programs, and boat and bike rentals. The historic Burnham Cottage and Hawks Nest Cottage, plus campsites 26-50, are also open. Visitors to George L. Smith can again rent boats to explore the beautiful lake, hike nature trails, and host gatherings in the group shelter. Campsites and cottages will open later this spring.
