Stakeholder Meeting on EPD’s Potential HAPs Reporting Requirement Starting in 2025

The Georgia Environmental Protection Division’s (EPD) Air Protection Branch (APB) will hold a stakeholder meeting on February 28, 2023, to receive preliminary feedback on the implementation of a state hazardous air pollutants (HAPs) emissions inventory (EI) from stationary sources. An accurate Georgia HAPs emissions inventory will ensure more accurate risk estimates for state and federal rule and policy development, aid in air toxics modeling, help identify communities of concern, and allow the Environmental Protection Division (EPD) to be better prepared for inquiries regarding concerns about HAPs emissions.

This meeting will begin with a high-level presentation on the HAPs emissions inventory proposal and will provide a platform for stakeholders to offer input on the HAPs emissions inventory. Following the presentation, time will be allotted for general questions, suggestions, and comments related to the project. We will accept written comments until March 15, 2023. We plan to record the meeting and make it available on the following website: https://epd.georgia.gov/haps-inventory.

A second stakeholder meeting will be held after the APB has had an opportunity to review the comments received during the initial comment period. A meeting invite will be sent once that meeting is scheduled.

The first stakeholder meeting will be held virtually using Zoom on Tuesday, February 28, 2023, from 2:00 p.m. – 3:00 p.m.  Zoom is a free web conferencing platform that also allows participation by phone.
