Anglers at Ocmulgee PFA are reeling in some monster bass right now!
The number of trophy largemouth bass being caught on Ocmulgee PFA (Bleckly/Pulaski counties) in 2012 is astounding! In the month of February alone, Georgia WRD personnel have documented a total of 30 largemouth bass over the 8 pound mark, including six fish over 10 lb and one exceeding 12 lb 4 oz. This is JUST from the fish reported to on-site staff.
Electrofishing samples collected earlier this week showed similar results. Of the 19 bass sampled, nine were over 8 lb and five were over 10 lb. The largest fish sampled weighed 12 lb, 12 oz on certified scales - only 4 ounces off of the coveted 13 lb mark!
Grab your fishing pole and head to Ocmulgee PFA to try to reel in the fish of a lifetime. Make sure to bring a camera and hand-held scales as all bass must be released immediately. For more information about fishing opportunities in Georgia, visit www.gofishgeorgia.com.
