Though it may be hard to imagine, at some point, the pandemic will subside and we'll be able to slowly get back to our lives. Until then, we ask for all volunteers to play safe. In other words, self-care is incredibly important at a time like this, and ensuring that you're making safe and smart choices. We have 6 tips to keep all volunteers safe while doing volunteer duties.
1.Wash your hands often with soap and water for at least 20 seconds.
2. Stay home when you are sick, except to get medical care.
3. Clean and disinfect frequently touched objects and surfaces.
4. Avoid touching your eyes, nose, and mouth.
5. Avoid close contact with people who are sick.
6. Cover your cough or sneeze with a tissue, then throw the tissue in the trash.
Flat Creek PFA Fish Attractors
Rain and low temperatures caused a slow start to a day of building fish attractors and habitats for more than 200 children from Perry, Georgia. Flat Creek PFA staff and volunteers hosted the elementary school students along with local police and military personnel. The slow start didn’t last long. A few hours of moving buckets and bamboo sticks quickly turned into a day of laughter and fun. It’s amazing how much energy children have! Great Job to the Go Fish and PFA staff.
Volunteers Teaching Archery
Every year the Georgia Wildlife Federation hosts the Fisharama/Turkeyarama in Perry, Ga at the Georgia's National Fair Grounds. This is a premier sportsman's trade show, one of the top shows in the nation. This event features products from hundreds of vendors across the globe. We ask our volunteers to help with the blow up archery for kids. Teaching kids the safe way to use archery is our main objective. There are many benefits for kids to learn archery.

Building Crappie Condos
A local nursery donated supplies for building Crappie Condos which consist of bamboo stalks and pots that house them. Concrete was also purchased to create a weight. Bamboo lasts significantly longer than many other natural structures against deterioration. Ogeechee Tech's fish pong management class helped construct 100 structures and helped assist in deployment the following week. The Crappie Condos are placed in specific areas to bring fish closer to the bank and provide structure for many different species. Anglers have enjoyed the new structures and benefits provided by their installation.
Thank you Ogeechee Tech students and the Evans Co. PFA Staff.
