Georgia Wildlife Resources Division COVID- 19 Preparedness Plan
At this time, the Wildlife Resources Division remains operational across the state. Administrative offices are open, and biologists and technicians continue to manage wildlife and habitat across the state. Please be advised that any service provided online or by telephone, such as license purchasing or boat registration, must be done though the provided methods below. WRD will assist customers in these processes.

Recreational Hunting, Fishing, and related licenses: Online at www.gooutdoors.com or telephone at 1-800-366-2661.

Lifetime Sportsman Licenses: email the completed application and any required documents to weblbru@dnr.ga.gov, or fax application and required documents to 706-557-3565. Call 1-800-366-2661 if these options are not available.

Boat Registrations: Online at www.gooutdoors.com or telephone at 1-800-366-2661. Mailed boat registration applications will not be delayed but mail is not normally as fast as online or telephone options.

Commercial Licenses/Lifetime Licenses: If scanning applications/documents and emailing as attachments is not an option, emailing clear pictures works.
WRD continues to provide access to dispersed recreation, such as hunting and fishing, on wildlife management areas and public fishing areas.Education centers and outdoor access to all properties are currently still open to the public; however, WRD advises that everyone follow CDC guidelines before visiting its properties and remain home when sick, with a fever, or following exposure to someone who is sick.
Indoor programs and group events over ten participants will be cancelled or rescheduled. WRD scheduled outdoor events of 50 attendees or less will remain in place at this time provided attendees maintain the 6-foot dispersal recommendation.

SAPELO FERRY: Due to the need to maintain social distancing on the Sapelo Island ferry, guests will be prioritized as follows and permitted on board as space permits up to 50 passengers:

First on board: Sapelo Island residents and landowners

Second on board: Contractors

Third on board: Guests of island residents and landowners
All guests must have a Sapelo Island resident, landowner, or business host and will be allowed to board given the amount of space left on the ferry. Guests without hosts are not permitted. All passengers will be expected to maintain the 6-foot dispersal recommendation while on the ferry.
US FOREST SERVICE PROPERTIES: Some boat ramps and shooting ranges on US Forest Service property are closed. For info on these closures, click HERE.
