Coastal Adventure: Register for Camp TALON

Know of a teen who is keen on birding? Tell them about Camp TALON, DNR’s exceptional coast-based camp for teens with a strong interest in the outdoors, birding and ecology.

TALON – Teen Adventures Learning Ornithology and Nature – is a one-of-a kind camp. Each day the adventure begins as the group travels by charter bus to barrier islands, state parks, wildlife management areas and refuges along Georgia’s coast. Evening classes challenge campers with presentations and quizzes about bird identification, songs, behavior, flight, migration and other topics.

The field trips and classes are led by biologists, ornithologists and environmental educators, each with 20-plus years of experience.

The 2019 camp is June 1-6. Sign up before April 5 at a reduced fee! This is a small-camp experience, so openings are limited.

Sponsors include DNR, The Environmental Resources Network (TERN), Georgia Ornithological Society and Atlanta Audubon Society.
