Celebrate July 4th in Georgia’s Great Outdoors

July 4th boating

From cookouts to campouts, we’ll help you celebrate Independence Day in a big way.  Rent a cabin or campsite and you can spend the holiday enjoying Georgia’s beautiful scenery and outdoor activities.  You’ll find events such as old-timey games and musket firings, plus sandy swimming beaches to keep you cool.  Remember that fireworks are not allowed inside state parks, but many parks are near community fireworks.

July 4th Events Include:

Sand Castle Competition at Don Carter, Lake Lanier

Campsite Decorating Contest at F.D. Roosevelt, Pine Mountain

Cannons across the Marsh at Fort King George, Darien

Bike Parade and Relay Races at Fort Mountain, Chatsworth

Star-Spangled Wagon Ride at Hard Labor Creek, Rutledge

Old-fashioned Games at Laura S. Walker, Waycross
