Brazell’s Creek at Gordonia-Alatamaha State Park -- Reidsville
It's getting exciting as we gear up for FootGolf at Brazell's Creek. FootGolf is a worldwide sport that combines traditional golf layout with soccer balls. Our grand opening is May 10 from 1 – 5 p.m. Everyone is welcome to join us for free as we "kick" off this sport. Robert Greer, course superintendent and 2018 American FootGolf League Georgia Chapter representative, will be available to answer questions and give a demonstration.
We're definitely getting closer to spring time in beautiful Gordonia-Alatamaha State Park. The greens are "green" and the golf balls are rolling fast at Brazell's Creek Golf Course. Our days are quite busy with golf tournaments, golf packages and the general public. For tee times, call 912-557-7745.
Highland Walk's 16th annual Junior Golf Camp will be June 4-8. The camp provides a comprehensive program of instruction for beginners ages 7-16. Half day sessions provide full swing, short game and putting instruction along with rules and etiquette seminars and a 9-hole tournament. Over Memorial Day weekend, veterans play 18 holes with cart for only a cart fee of $17 + tax. The offer is valid May 25-28. Proof of service is required. (Did you know that disabled veterans receive a 25% discount off any greens fee when playing at any of the Georgia State Park Golf Courses? This includes annual membership fees. At Highland Walk, that discount represents $100 to $125 off. Just present your certificate of eligibility and receive your earned benefit.)
The Lakes Golf Course at Laura S. Walker State Park in Waycross has a free birthday club. Twi-Night Golf Tournament is May 18 at 5:30 p.m. with a four-person scramble. Cost is $55, which includes golf, cart, and dinner. Tuesday evening Nine-Hole Scrambles start in May. Call 912-285-6154 for information.
Next Junior Golf Tournament is in McRae
The next Junior Golf Tournament event is May 12 at Wallace Adams Golf Course at Little Ocmulgee State Park. Open to boys and girls 7 to 18 years old. Entry fees are $45 to $55. Points awarded at each event to decide player of the year for all age divisions. Then, the next event is June 23 at Highland Walk at Victoria Bryant State Park.
