New Report Explores Wildlife Conservation

Conserving Georgia's Nongame in 2017

2017 Nongame Report

Learn how DNR’s Nongame Conservation Section is restoring and protecting native wildlife, plants and habitats in “Conserving Georgia’s Nongame Wildlife: 2017.”

This recently released review of the agency’s work in the last fiscal year features:

  • A comprehensive 66-page report.
  • A summary brochure of highlights.
  • A multi-media presentation with video and interactive maps showing the migration of saltmarsh sparrows, the results of gopher tortoise surveys and more.

The Nongame Conservation Section, part of DNR's Wildlife Resources Division, is charged with conserving the more than 95 percent of Georgia species not legally fished for or hunted, plus rare native plants and natural habitats.

The annual report documents what the agency did in fiscal 2017, and how Georgians can support this vital mission.
