GREAT News! The Marine Habitat Specialty Plate
featuring a Red Drum has been approved!

Only one remaining hurdle before the new Marine Habitat Specialty Plate makes its way to your county tag office and we need your help to clear that hurdle! Before the Motor Vehicle Division (MVD) begins production 1,000 plates must be pre-ordered.
You previously indicated your interest in purchasing a plate or plates (note: they can be purchased for vehicles and trailers). Now is your chance to be one of the first to show your support by pre-ordering a plate today. Here’s how:
- Fill-out the attached Pre-Order Form;
- Send the form and a $25 check per tag made payable to the Georgia Department of Natural Resources (memo: “Marine Habitat Specialty License Plate). Your check will be deposited into a restricted account until such times as 1,000 pre-orders have been received.
- Once the goal is reached, the funds will be transferred to the Division of Motor Vehicles.
- Then, you will receive via USPS two forms that you need to present to your local tag office. If it is your regular registration renewal period, you will also pay your county tag fees.
Please help us reach the 1,000 pre-order goal quickly by sending your check ASAP! As an added incentive, the first 1,000 pre-orders will be entered into a drawing for a Samsung Chrome Book computer! Your support of marine habitat conservation is greatly appreciated!
Another e-mail will be sent as soon as 1,000 pre-orders have been receive. Please direct questions to Doug Haymans at doug.haymans@dnr.ga.gov.
