Chatham County’s animated series, Chatty Chatham, has picked up another national award for its fun and creative approach to teaching young students how local government works.
The first episode in the series, “Zoning Schmoaning,” recently received a Silver Circle Award in the “Most Innovative Communications” category for counties with populations of 150,000 or more at the City-County Communications and Marketing Association’s (3CMA) annual Savvy Awards.
The Savvy Awards, presented at 3CMA’s Annual Conference, recognize outstanding work in local government communications, public-sector marketing, and resident-government relations.

Weightlifting Competition to Benefit Local Animal Rescue
Get ready to watch some of the area’s best weightlifters and maybe even find your next furry friend at Wags 4 Weights, a weightlifting competition coming to the Anderson Cohen Weightlifting Center on Saturday, October, 10.
Hosted by Team Savannah and Renegade Paws Rescue, the USA Weightlifting-sanctioned event is open to men and women of all ages and ability levels. A portion of registration fees will benefit Renegade Paws Rescue, and spectators can attend the event for free.
