For many people living with Parkinson’s disease and other movement disorders, staying active can make a meaningful difference in quality of life. In Savannah and the surrounding Chatham County area, the GEM (Get Excited and Move) program is helping participants do exactly that by combining exercise, encouragement, and community.

The recent redevelopment of L. Scott Stell Park earned statewide recognition earlier this month. CHA Consulting, Inc. received a Merit Award at the ACEC Georgia Engineering Excellence Awards, held in Atlanta on March 6, for its work on the park’s three new Airnasiums, which opened last fall.

Chatham County Parks & Recreation is thrilled to expand our reach into the Greenbriar Community, a place filled with promise, heart, and hope that has been transformed into a vibrant recreational hub for youth and seniors alike. Greenbriar is centrally located within a half-mile of Alfred E. Beach High School, DeRenne Middle School, Hodge Elementary School, and Building Bridges (an alternative middle school) making it perfectly positioned to meet the needs of the surrounding communities.
