Valentine’s Day Weddings at Chatham County Courthouse

Chatham County, GA (January 15, 2025) - Love is always in the air on Valentine’s Day, and this year no place more so than at the Montgomery Street Courthouse. Six Chatham County Judges and the Superior Court Clerk are dedicating their schedules that day to officiating at weddings.
Couples who would like to marry at the courthouse on Valentine’s Day must reserve a court time in advance by calling either 912-652-7460 or 912-652-7154 to RSVP by Monday, February 10th.
Couples must also obtain a marriage license issued by the Probate Court prior to their Valentine’s Day wedding at the Courthouse. Marriage licenses are accepted by appointment only and may be obtained weeks in advance of the wedding date to avoid last minute stress.

Couples should visit Probate Court’s website where they can submit the marriage license application online and make an appointment to come together to Court prior to Valentine’s Day. They will also learn from the website what to have in hand for that appointment including, but not limited to, a current driver’s license or passport, a divorce judgment from the most recent marriage, if it ended in divorce, or a death certificate, if the previous spouse is deceased.
