Chatham-Savannah Counter Narcotics Team Operation Nets Large-Scale Drug Trafficking Indictment and Arrests

Chatham County, GA (October 24, 2024) - In October of 2024, the Chatham-Savannah Counter Narcotics Team (CNT) working closely with the District Attorney’s Office and the Prosecuting Attorney’s Counsel (PAC) ended a fourteen (14) month investigation into a drug trafficking organization based in Savannah, Georgia. A grand jury in the Chatham County Superior Court of the Eastern Judicial Circuit, handed down a 39-co-defendant indictment charging the defendants with violations of the state’s Racketeer Influenced and Corrupt Organizations Act; also known as RICO. During the investigation, law enforcement seized thirteen kilograms of Methamphetamine, more than one kilogram of Fentanyl, seventeen firearms, and $190,367.93 in US currency. The investigation further revealed that members of the organization transported kilogram quantities of controlled substances into Chatham County, Georgia. In January of 2024, the organization attempted to deliver three kilograms of Methamphetamine into Chatham County, but investigators interrupted the delivery and seized the Methamphetamine. Additionally, members of this organization participated in the introduction of contraband into Georgia state prisons. In coordination with the Georgia Department of Corrections, investigators disrupted several attempts to introduce contraband into the prison system.
