 Join the City Nature Challenge
Help South Florida Win!
The City Nature Challenge (CNC) is an international effort for people to find and document plants and wildlife in cities across the globe. It’s a bioblitz-style competition rooted in community science where cities are in a contest against each other to see who can make the most observations of nature, who can find the most species, and who can engage the most people. CNC South Florida encompasses Monroe, Miami-Dade, Collier, Broward, and Palm Beach Counties. South Florida has an array of unique environments, both terrestrial and marine, where diverse flora and fauna can be found just outside your door.
Help South Florida win the City Nature Challenge! Participation is easy. Simply take photos of any plant, animal, or fungi during the observation period (April 24 – 27, 2026) and upload them to the iNaturalist website or app. If your photo was taken within the boundaries of our project, they will be automatically counted towards our totals.
Community service hours are available! Maximum of 10 hours (100 observations). Click here for more info.

EV Charger Tax Credit is Expiring Soon!
If you (or someone you know) has been thinking about installing an EV charger at home, now’s the time to act. The federal EV charging tax credit deadline is coming up, and chargers must be installed and operational by June 30 to qualify.
The EV charging tax credit (30C) can cover up to 30% of the cost of buying and installing a charger (up to $1,000 for individuals). Eligibility depends on where the charger is installed, but updated IRS guidance has helped make it clearer which locations qualify. The credit also applies to businesses and tax-exempt organizations.
