Mayor James Announces Revised Palm Beach Atlantic University (PBAU) Expansion Plan
Mayor Keith A. James is happy to announce that Palm Beach Atlantic University (PBAU) representatives intend to revise their campus expansion that more harmoniously integrates with its surrounding community, consistent with Mayor James’ vision of smart growth.
The original campus expansion design included a 25-story dormitory and a monumental 11-story private parking garage — the tallest parking garage in West Palm Beach. PBAU has agreed to revise its plans to include a parking garage of a height not to exceed seven stories.
“Certain things are simply worth fighting for,” said Mayor Keith A. James. “My Administration has been acting with intentionality, investing in innovation and implementing mobility and transportation solutions. I’m appreciative of PBAU’s willingness to work with my vision of a city that creates attractive public spaces, and sustains neighborhoods with attractive streets designed for people, not just cars. PBAU is a valuable addition to West Palm Beach, attracting students and talent known for nationwide academic excellence and benevolence.”

Mental Health Awareness Month | May 2025
"One in every five adults experiences a mental health illness each year, and one in six of our nation’s youth currently have a mental health condition. Though we’ve made progress in treatment, those are sobering numbers. So, I made mental health a part of my Roundtable Series of Community Conversations — and in those conversations, we found strength in every story.
West Palm Beach fully supports and partners with the National Council of Mental Wellbeing in sharing mental health resources, including support groups and crisis services.
As we continue to spread awareness and have these important conversations, I urge residents, businesses, and schools in West Palm Beach to educate themselves and others about mental health and treatment options."
— Mayor Keith A. James
