Did You know that the City of West Palm Beach has an expedited permitting process for small-scale residential solar PV (photovoltaic) systems that are 10 kW or less?
In 2018, the City achieved SolSmart Gold designation allowing for a quick turnaround for small-scale residential Solar permitting. SolSmart is a national program that helps cities, towns, counties, and regional organizations become solar energy leaders.
You can apply for an Expedited Solar Review- Residential permit through the online Enterprise Permitting and Licensing System (EPL). Permitting will take up to 3 business days with a significantly lower “soft cost” of approximately $450 + insignificant state surcharge per project.
Check the necessary forms on the West Palm Beach Development Services website here:
Direct link to the Enterprise Permitting and Licensing System (EPL) Civic Access Portal: Civic Access portal. Any questions regarding EPL can be addressed by email to: DS@wpb.org
Expedited permitting will remove any impediments for the residents in achieving their solar energy goals and accelerate the transition to clean energy for the City of West Palm Beach.
