Potential Tropical Cyclone Eighteen is expected to become a tropical storm today, Nov. 4. By Wednesday night, it will enter the southern Gulf of Mexico and generally continue on a track to the northwest across the open waters of the central Gulf of Mexico.
Possible Impacts:
• Higher rainfall chances for Wednesday and Thursday, with locally heavy rain possible. • There will be an increased threat for beach and marine hazards during the middle and late part of the week, which includes a higher risk of rip currents and Small Craft Advisory conditions. • While the core impacts from this system are currently forecast to be well away from the area, there remains a 10% to 20% chance of tropical storm force winds, mainly in gusts, along the immediate coastal areas of the west coast of Florida and eastern Gulf waters.
