Town Hall Update: The City of Treasure Island is hosting a Town Hall tomorrow, Oct. 30, from 5 to 7:30 p.m. on the 5th floor of City Hall. Representatives from FEMA, senior staff from our Community Development Department, and a representative from Hagerty Consulting’s Recovery Division will attend to address community questions.
Due to fire code restrictions, attendance is limited to the first 152 attendees. Doors will open at 4:30 p.m.
For those unable to attend in person, the Town Hall will be broadcast live on Facebook, accessible to all, even those without a Facebook account - Facebook.com/CityOfTreasureIsland. Facebook will be for viewing only. To ensure a smooth and timely meeting, all attendees will be asked to submit their questions on a card upon arrival. This allows us to maximize our limited time and cover as many questions as possible. We understand many have concerns, and we aim to provide clear answers to the most common inquiries.
Thank you for your cooperation and understanding.
Residents and visitors are reminded that Sunset Beach remains closed and is an active construction zone as Gator Dredging works on sand removal and beach restoration. This area is off-limits to ensure everyone’s safety, as heavy equipment and machinery are in use!
The city and contractors have noticed people entering the construction zone, putting themselves and the project at risk. Treasure Island Police will be increasing patrols in the area. Ignoring the closure could jeopardize the project, as the contractor may halt work if safety rules aren’t followed.
The rest of Treasure Island’s beaches are open and ready for you to enjoy. Please do your beach walks, runs, and relax there instead. The more we stay clear of Sunset Beach, the sooner this project can be completed. Thank you for your cooperation.
