We hope everyone weathered the storm safely. Winds were strong but with the storm making landfall just south of our area. Storm surge was minimum.
Emergency personnel made it back onto the island at around 5 a.m. to do a damage assessment and search and rescue. Crews found many downed trees, power lines, structures damage and more. All-in-all the island to faired decent during Milton. Now the recovery efforts from Helene continue, and the cleanup from Milton begins. More information will be coming soon. Thank you and stay safe.
