Pinellas County has issued a mandatory evacuation order for residents in Zone
A and all mobile homes countywide for Tropical Storm Helene. This includes ALL of Treasure Island. The order takes effect at 9 a.m. today, Sept. 25, and includes high-rise buildings in Evacuation Zone A, which will not be a safe place to ride out the storm.
The County has opened six shelters, including shelters that can accommodate pets and people with special medical needs. Find a list of those shelters here: https://pinellas.gov/emergency-information/public-shelters/
The Treasure Island City Commission declared a State of Emergency this morning, Sept. 25. The declaration gives Mayor Tyler Payne authority to issue special orders to ensure public safety.
