Proper yard waste placement

Friendly Reminder to All Residents

As you tackle yard work this weekend, the city kindly asks that you be mindful of where you dispose of your yard waste.

  • DO NOT PLACE YARD WASTE IN THE ROADWAY OR NEAR STORM DRAINS. This can cause storm drains to clog, leading to flooding, especially during heavy rains. When yard debris washes into storm drains, it prevents water from draining properly.
  • Placing yard waste like palm fronds, mulch, leaves, and rocks on the street makes it easier for them to get washed into storm drains.
  • When mowing, do not blow grass clippings onto the street, as they also clog drains.
  • Do not place yard debris on top of inlets in or near your yard.

If you encounter a clogged drain, please report it at MyTreasureIsland.com/Issues or call 727-547-4575.

Thank you.
