From Pinellas County Emergency Management:
The National Weather Service has indicated a prolonged period of moisture/heavy rainfall is forecast for the next week or so as a stalled frontal boundary remains over the area.
- 2” – 3” of rainfall has fallen just this morning in Pinellas County, with some areas in the county reporting some flooding issues already.
- An additional 4” – 6” of rainfall with isolated amounts up to 8” is possible through the next seven days in Pinellas County.
- This may cause flooding/flash flooding issues, especially since the ground is already very saturated.
The Treasure Island Police Department and Treasure Island Fire Department remind drivers not to drive through flooded roadways - you may push water into neighbors’ properties or risk your car getting stuck.
