Treasure Island Implements Changes to Sunset Beach Parking

Vehicles parked on a side street

Effective July 29, parking on the side streets of Sunset Beach in Treasure Island will no longer be free. Visitors must now use the ParkMobile app to pay for parking.

Key highlights of this change include:

  • No new parking spaces have been created. Where it was legal to park in the past, it will continue to be legal, costing $5 per hour using the ParkMobile app.
  • Side-street parking rates apply 24 hours a day, 7 days per week.
  • Visitors are asked to pay close attention to signage. Some side streets allow parking on both sides of the street 7 days a week. Other streets only allow parking on one side of the street on weekends and holidays.
  • Residents can purchase up to two Treasure Island City Parking passes for $45 per year and go online to add their visitors' license plates to their accounts to avoid residential visitors from having to pay the ParkMobile rate.
  • City parking lots offer a lower hourly rate of $3.75.
  • Special consideration by parking enforcement will be given to construction, pool and lawn maintenance vehicles.
  • Parking enforcement officers will utilize License Plate Reader Technology to monitor compliance, with fines of $60 per violation for parking infractions.

This program, being tested in Sunset Beach, aims to encourage visitors to use city parking lots first and ensure public safety. These rules exist for public safety purposes, ensuring emergency vehicles can access all roadways. This allows residents to have unobstructed access to their driveways and property.

Feedback can be directed to Commissioner Dickey at adickey@mytreasureisland.org.

The City of Treasure Island appreciates the cooperation of residents and visitors in adhering to these new parking regulations.
