Walk to Beach Day

Treasure Island Fire Rescue is excited to host their 2nd Annual Walk to Beach Day tomorrow, May 24, from 10 a.m. to noon along Gulf Blvd between 104th and 108th Avenue. Whether you're a resident or just visiting the area, everyone is welcome to come out and enjoy a morning of promoting safety and community.

Inspired by the success of "Walk to School Day," this event aims to promote community, health, environment, and benefits by spreading awareness about bicycle and pedestrian safety on the beach and beyond. The event will feature five stations along Gulf Blvd, with volunteers stationed at each crosswalk between 104th and 108th Avenue. Volunteers will be equipped with safety reflective vests and flags to help pedestrians cross the street safely. Volunteers will also provide education on the importance of using crosswalks and the need for drivers and pedestrians to be alert and aware.

In collaboration and expansion of this event, TIFR is happy to announce that St Pete Beach Fire Rescue will be hosting a Walk to Beach Day in the city of St Pete Beach in conjunction with TIFR.
