The District Documents Damage Caused by Hurricane Ian
The Southwest Florida Water Management District (District) explored areas of its southern region that were strongly impacted by Hurricane Ian by land and helicopter. Unprecedented flood levels were seen in Sarasota, Charlotte, Hardee and DeSoto counties. Documenting this historic flood event will help the District create future watershed models and help residents identify flood-prone areas.
