Ribbon Cutting for Three Sisters Springs Visitor Center
The Crystal River National Wildlife Refuge Visitor Center is now open to the public. The center is located near Three Sisters Springs and has displays and information about the springs for visitors to explore. At the ribbon cutting, a rehabilitated manatee named Hoagie was released back into the wild.
The celebration also provided some time to reflect on the various projects completed throughout the years that have helped restore and maintain the springs. Protection of the springs is done through collaborative efforts by the Southwest Florida Water Management District, the City of Crystal River and the US Fish and Wildlife Service.
