We’re seeking a Landscape Maintenance Technician II! Are you or someone you know qualified and interested in joining our team? Visit www.Sarasotafl.gov to apply online and see other employment opportunities with the City of Sarasota.
Congratulations to our Parking Manager Broxton Harvey who recently became a Certified Administrator of Public Parking (CAPP)! That’s the worldwide leading certification in parking and mobility.
Broxton joined us in January 2023 and immediately began researching requirements for a CAPP certification, then spent months studying for the exam. Understanding an array of topics, from engaging stakeholders to the latest parking technologies to code of ethics, is necessary to earn the certification. The exam is so comprehensive most candidates have at least 7-10 years’ experience working in the industry. As we discuss public parking challenges and opportunities, know that our Parking Manager meets the highest standards and qualifications in the profession. Well done, Broxton!
We’re proud to support and encourage professional development with an eye on having an exceptional staff to make the best recommendations and decisions for our great city.

The deadline for the spring 2024 Neighborhood Canopy Program is quickly approaching, so don’t delay!
The Neighborhood Canopy Program, formerly known as the Mature Tree Program, is back with a new name and new species. To be included in the spring planting season, City of Sarasota homeowners need to apply by Sunday, March 3.
Residents provide a required $100 deposit and the City, through the Tree Mitigation Fund, pays up to $500 of the cost to purchase and plant an approved mature canopy tree.
Five species are available for the spring planting season:
- Bald Cypress
- Holly
- Magnolia
- Pink Tabebuia
- Southern Red Cedar
With trees helping to reduce greenhouse gas emissions, providing wildlife habitat, offering energy savings and beautifying neighborhoods, this program is very beneficial to the community.
Interested in participating? Reach out to Mast Landscape Management at 941-480-6387 or email us at NeighborhoodCanopyProgram@Sarasotafl.gov
