After receiving input from over 1,000 people last year regarding their preferences and vision for 10th Street and Boulevard of the Arts complete streets, we're seeking additional community feedback.
This time we’re asking for input via an online survey regarding preferred designs and placemaking elements for these unique east-west corridors.
Last year, the community envisioned Boulevard of the Arts as a “main street” with pedestrian safety a top priority, while 10th Street was identified as a gateway to The Bay Park needing safe multi-modal options. With the complete streets project, protected bicycle lanes and wider sidewalks are planned for 10th Street by repurposing lanes between Orange Avenue and U.S. 41.

It should take less than ten minutes to take the survey. We encourage you to share your input that will help design these corridors.
Don't wait! The survey closes Sunday, Nov. 19.
Thank you for your participation!
Mark your calendars! The grand reopening celebration for the restored 18-hole Donald Ross-designed golf course and new nature park is set for Friday, Dec. 15 from 9 a.m. – noon. The nature park and golf course will be open to the public for tours only on Dec. 15. The course will open for play the following day Saturday, Dec. 16 at 7 a.m.
The restoration of the golf course and creation of the new nature park was an unprecedented collaborative effort including a new partnership with the Conservation Foundation of the Gulf Coast to preserve the entire 300-acre property in perpetuity; funding and cooperation at the state and local levels; and significant community input spanning 5+ years.
The grand reopening celebration will kick off at 9 a.m. with remarks by those closely involved with the project, including our golf course architect Richard Mandell. He spent years getting to know our community and redesigning the course to reflect the original Donald Ross design while improving environmental needs. Without even reopening, this remarkable restoration effort already has been recognized by the American Society of Golf Course Architects with an Environmental Excellence Award specifically for increasing stormwater retention and drainage, while reducing the risk of possible flooding. Congratulations!
You won’t want to miss the ceremonial “tee off” with dignitaries at approximately 10 a.m. Then, from 10 a.m. to noon the golf course and nature park will be open for the public to explore and enjoy. Guided tours of the nature park will be offered by volunteer residents and local conservation and wildlife groups. Please note: The festivities will conclude at noon and at that time the golf course will be cleared.
Starting Dec. 2, tee time reservations will be accepted for the first day of golf on Dec. 16 via the redesigned Bobby Jones website www.BobbyJonesGolfClub.com
We look forward to seeing you at the grand reopening celebration Dec. 15!
You may have noticed trenching or boring going on recently in Arlington, Bayfront and Payne parks. Crews have been diligently working to install the conduit needed to ultimately offer free Wi-Fi in these parks.
With the conduit in place underground, fiber and copper lines are being pulled and poles installed for wireless access points. It is anticipated the work will be completed and free Wi-Fi available with full coverage throughout Arlington Park, Bayfront Park and Payne Park by March 2024. Signs will be posted in each park letting visitors know free Wi-Fi is offered.
Our free Wi-Fi in the Parks program launched last November in Dr. MLK Jr. Park. With more people seeking to spend time in safe outdoor spaces, the idea is to offer families, students, entrepreneurs and visitors a place to study or conduct personal or professional business online while enjoying a pleasant park setting in our community.
We’ll keep you posted!
