Hurricane Milton is expected to impact the inland Florida as a Category 2 hurricane, with tropical storm conditions likely expected in our area by late night Wednesday. We have strategically deployed crews and equipment to respond to this storm.
Closures and Cancelations
Plantation’s Hellen B. Hoffman Library and Veltri Tennis Center are closing at 4 p.m. today, October 8. For the status of tonight’s outdoor youth sports, please check www.palsports.org or contact Plantation Athletic League.
All City offices, parks, library, museum and facilities are closed on Wednesday and Thursday, October 9-10. Events, meetings, and inspections scheduled for these dates are canceled, including the City Council meeting on October 9 and the Affordable Housing Town Hall on October 10.
Trash and Bulk
Bulk and trash pickup will continue as scheduled until the sustained winds reach 35 mph, as long as the roads are passable. Remember to monitor the wind conditions before putting out any trash, bulk or yard waste and refrain from doing so until close to the pickup time. Keep it away from stormwater drains and fire hydrants. Be ready to secure or bring in any bulk or yard trash if conditions worsen and pick up is suspended.
