Voluntary Information Request
On August 1, 2025, OIR issued an Informational Memorandum in relation to the Florida Property Claims Lifecycle Reporting requirements, per Section 624.424(11), Florida Statutes. The Informational Memorandum highlighted insurers’ responsibility for ensuring all required data is collected to make a complete filing, including accurately reporting the amount of claim settlement attributable to each category outlined in Section 624.424(11), F.S., including the claimant’s attorney fees, the claimant’s attorney expenses, and any contingency risk multipliers requested by the claimant’s attorney.
Following feedback received from the Informational Memorandum, OIR believes additional information regarding insurers’ ability to comply with Florida law would be helpful. Accordingly, OIR has prepared a voluntary information request to gather desired information. OIR requests that companies complete the spreadsheet found here and provide responses to the template questions as comprehensively as possible. Upon completion, please email the spreadsheet directly to PCLR@floir.com.
Although submission of the requested information is voluntary, insurers’ detailed accounts of their efforts to obtain the required data will greatly aid OIR in identifying potential obstacles to data collection and ensure the overall success of OIR’s data gathering efforts.
OIR requests insurers submit the completed template no later than Friday, January 30, 2026.
