Investments Support Vibrant Communities
North Port Parks & Recreation is committed to building healthy and vibrant communities by providing diverse, high-quality parks, programs and facilities and supporting equitable access to parks across the City. Research demonstrates investing in parks, trails, and green space increases property values and economic activity.
Over the past year, we’ve implemented several improvements to our park system including the new Myakkahatchee Creek Greenway Trail, playground replacements at McKibben and Dallas White parks, resurfacing of the Atwater Splash Pad and Pelican playground at the Aquatic Center, addition of the Story Stroll near Boundless Adventures playground, and a site refresh at Warm Mineral Springs Park. Also in progress is a soccer field rehabilitation, replacement playground at the Mullen Center, resurfacing of the Boundless Adventures playground, and a new restroom facility to serve patrons of Marina Park. Additional improvements in the planning stages include the new Circle of Honor Veterans Memorial, restroom replacement at the Myakkahatchee Creek Environmental Park, and a new primarily passive neighborhood park called Boca Chica.
